We were lucky enough to have a visit from renowned columnist Tim Lloyd in April of 2012 and his review for 'The Advertiser' really highlighted our restaurants uniqueness!
Here's a snippet from his full article which can be found here.
"THE permutations of winery and restaurant become broader as the wine industry changes to appeal to its customers.
Vasarelli's is a warm and hearty Italian bistro in McLaren Vale's main street. Only as you settle into the meal does it becomes clear this is also a winery cellar door.
The wine on the list is all Vasarelli's but it is at a modest premium to cellar door prices. Suddenly it dawns you are eating in a very credible bistro with good food at very good prices, and wine at prices you will never see again in Adelaide bistros, albeit limited to one winery.
We order a couple of glasses of sparkling, and the waitress points out that for $20 we may as well have the bottle.
This is a properly structured, pleasurable sparkling wine.
No wonder the place is full of locals. On a Friday night, most tables have four or more and the atmosphere is jolly.
The restaurant is a converted old stone house fronted by a veranda roomy enough for outside tables and with an elevated position looking down across the town.
Indoors, the rooms have all been expanded into each other, so there is a sense of the whole restaurant but a certain amount of intimacy, too."
